Kashmir Trip Cost 2026-27: A Real Budget for 4, 5 and 7 Days

A Kashmir trip costs what your flights, your rooms and your cab cost: together they are about four-fifths of the bill. This guide prices each part from dated checks, then adds them up for three budgets, so you can swap in your own city and dates. For the route these totals are based on, see our Kashmir itinerary.

How much does a Kashmir trip cost?

For a couple flying from Delhi for five days in mid-December 2026, a Kashmir trip costs about ₹58,400 on a budget, ₹80,000 at mid-range and ₹1.23 lakh in comfort, flights included. That is ₹29,200, ₹40,000 and ₹61,600 per person.

Shopping, tips, ponies and skiing are not in these totals. The route is two nights in Srinagar, one in Gulmarg and one in Pahalgam.

What each level means. Budget: the cheapest fare (one stop), a room at the low end of what well-reviewed hotels charge, a cab at ₹2,500 a day, Gondola Phase 1 only, and simple local meals. Mid-range: the cheapest nonstop fare, a room at the middle rate, a cab at ₹3,500 a day, both Gondola phases and mid-range restaurants. Comfort: the same flights, a room at the high end, an SUV at ₹4,500 a day and premium restaurants.

Flights to Srinagar: what they cost from eight cities

Flights are the largest single cost from most cities. A return fare from Delhi for 15 to 19 December was ₹13,691 per adult when we checked on 1 October 2026; from Mumbai it was ₹24,569 with one stop and ₹35,020 nonstop.

These are the lowest fares on the first page of results for each trip, bags and seat choice not included. Fares change daily, so treat them as the level to expect, not a quote.

• Nonstop flights: Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad showed nonstop flights for these dates. From Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai and Pune every fare shown had one stop.
• Christmas costs more: from Delhi the 26 to 30 December fare was ₹15,687 against ₹13,691 for mid-December, and from Mumbai ₹30,317 against ₹24,569.
• The train is cheaper from the north: the Vande Bharat runs from Jammu Tawi and Katra to Srinagar. It suits anyone who can reach Jammu or Katra by an overnight train.

Hotels and houseboats: what a night costs

A well-reviewed hotel room for two costs about ₹3,400 a night in Srinagar, ₹3,600 in Pahalgam, ₹6,000 in Sonamarg and ₹7,500 in Gulmarg, taxes included, for a night in mid-December. Those are the middle rates among the hotels we track; Gulmarg is the expensive one.

"Budget" is the rate nine in ten of those hotels are above, "comfortable" the rate nine in ten are below. Five-star hotels cost far more: the highest rates we found were over ₹35,000 a night.

Taxis: what getting around costs

Most visitors hire one cab with a driver for the whole trip, at about ₹2,500 to ₹4,500 a day depending on the car. For five days that is ₹10,000 to ₹18,000 after the airport pickup. Get the places, hours and what is extra in writing.

Sightseeing and activities

The Gulmarg Gondola is the one big ticket: ₹1,800 per person for both phases. Almost everything else is small: a shikara is ₹700 for the first hour for the whole boat, and the Mughal gardens are ₹30 each.

Food

A meal costs ₹100 to ₹300 per person at a simple local restaurant and ₹300 to ₹700 at a mid-range one. These are estimates reported by other guides in 2026, not prices we have paid ourselves yet, and they are marked that way below.

Kashmir trip cost for 4, 5 and 7 days

Extra days cost less than the first ones, because the flights are already paid for. Each total is for two people from Delhi in mid-December, flights included at the 15 to 19 December fare.

Without flights, the five-day trip for two comes to ₹31,000, ₹50,500 and ₹93,700. Use that figure with the fare from your own city.

Kashmir trip cost from Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other cities

The same five-day mid-range trip for two, with the cheapest nonstop fare where one exists and the cheapest one-stop fare otherwise:

For a family of four, and for one person

• Family of four: about ₹1,41,300. Two rooms at the middle rate, four return fares from Delhi, one cab, both Gondola phases for four and mid-range meals: ₹58,896 of it is flights. We count four adult fares and tickets; children's Gondola and flight fares can be lower.
• One person: about ₹58,300. A solo traveller pays for the whole room and the whole cab, so the trip costs much more than half a couple's. Shared taxis and buses, in the table above, are how to bring that down.

When is a Kashmir trip cheapest?

Of the months we checked, October is cheapest for rooms. The same five-day mid-range trip for two from Delhi came to ₹77,900 for 20 to 24 October, ₹80,000 for 15 to 19 December and ₹86,500 for 26 to 30 December. The Christmas figure uses that week's fares with mid-December room rates, and many hotels charge more that week, so treat it as the least you would pay.

Spring is the expensive season in Srinagar: the 43 hotels that already showed a rate for 6 April 2027, in tulip season, cost about 23% more than in mid-December. In Gulmarg, Christmas and New Year are the peak.

Costs people forget

• Union taxis: Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari from Pahalgam cost ₹2,200 to ₹3,000 per vehicle; Zero Point from Sonamarg ₹3,500 to ₹4,500.
• Snow days in Gulmarg: chains fitted at Tangmarg cost about ₹600 a pair, or a 4x4 up from Tangmarg ₹1,200 to ₹1,600 one way.
• A local SIM: prepaid SIMs from other states do not work in Jammu and Kashmir. A tourist SIM costs about ₹300.
• Both Gondola phases: many package quotes include only Phase 1. Both phases cost ₹1,800 per person.
• A spare day in winter: snow can cancel flights. On 27 January 2026, all 58 flights to and from Srinagar were cancelled, so budget for one extra night at the end of a winter trip.

How we worked these numbers out

• Flights: the lowest return fare for one adult shown on the first page of Google Flights for each city and each set of dates, read on 1 October 2026. The mid-range and comfort totals use the cheapest nonstop fare where one was shown.
• Rooms: the lowest public online rate for two adults on 15 December 2026, taxes included, read on 30 September 2026 for every well-reviewed hotel we track: 97 in Srinagar, 20 in Gulmarg, 43 in Pahalgam and 19 in Sonamarg. Budget, mid-range and comfort are the 10th percentile, the middle and the 90th percentile of those rates. Every night of the trip is priced at the 15 December rate.
• Cab and meals: estimates reported by other guides in 2026, which we have not yet paid ourselves: a cab at ₹2,500 to ₹4,500 a day (we use ₹2,500, ₹3,500 and ₹4,500) and two restaurant meals a day each at ₹300, ₹500 and ₹1,000 per person.
